As far back as I have memory, making art has been a part of my life. Growing up in the Northeast I was in awe of the Master’s paintings at
the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. I would move up close to view
the paintings, then slowly back away to see them from a distance.
Back and forth, over and over - I wished I could have camped-out
in some of those rooms. I still do, to this day, every time I visit.
After receiving a BFA and MFA in painting, teaching at the university level, and visiting new areas of the country, I fell in love with the landscape of the Southwest.
Simply put, I love to paint. I’m compelled by what I see and hear; inspired to paint those subtle, seen and unseen places, so quietly vibrant. I paint with expressive color and brushwork to create the atmosphere and feel of a place, a thought, a memory. Painting is my meditation.
I currently live in Durango, Colorado where the sun shines most
days throughout the four seasons. It's a lovely and inspiring place to live.
I'm most grateful.
